Joyce Yang Joins Fort Worth Symphony in a marathon of Beethoven’s five piano concertos
To celebrate the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth, five pianists (Jon Nakamatsu, David Fray, George Li, Till Fellner, and Joyce Yang) came together in Fort Worth to perform all five of Beethoven’s piano concerti back to back with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and music director Miguel Harth-Bedoya. Yang dazzled in the Bass Performance Hall once more, as she did in the 2005 Van Cliburn Piano Competition, where she was a silver medal winner. In reaction to Joyce’s performance of the first piano concerto, Dallas Morning News wrote: “Yang reveled in subtle variations of touch and color, turning one lovely phrase after another, gently underlining the music’s flashes of humor.”
