News flash! This weekend, Joyce is stepping on short notice to make her debut with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, led by its Music Director Manfred Honeck. She is the soloist in Robert Schumann's famous Piano Concerto in A minor, as part of the Symphony's "Romance of Schumann" celebration at Heinz Hall, April 10-12. On March 19, Joyce Yang – “one of the great chamber players of her generation” (Theater Jones) – joins the Takács Quartet for Dvorák’s A-major Piano Quintet in the Great Performers Series at Lincoln Center.

Following her performance this past weekend at Musica Viva Australia’s Huntington Estate Music Festival, Joyce will perform a solo recital that includes Rachmaninoff’s Piano Sonata No. 2 (Nov 27); a program of Albéniz and Ginastera (Nov 29-am); Hindemith’s Theme and Variations (“The Four Temperaments”) with the Australian National Academy of Music Chamber Orchestra (Nov 29-pm); and Taneyev’s Piano Quintet in G minor (Nov 30).

This past July the New York Times praised Joyce Yang's “sumptuous, powerful, subtle performance” of Rachmaninoff's First Concerto with the New York Philharmonic.  This season she plays the Russian composer’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini from Albany to Victoria, British Columbia. Following her “sumptuous, powerful, subtle performance” (New York Times) of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the New York Philharmonic earlier this month, Joyce Yang joins the orchestra and conductor Bramwell Tovey this Friday for the same work during the Philharmonic’s Colorado residency at the Bravo!
